Lust of/for Life

Fast forward to the physical self and *blink*…realization dawns; life is smitten with lust. Zoom in and you’d be witness to the desire to excel, craving for attention, biting into that generous helping of black forest, want to fine-tune body contours, love and possession.

Take a look from above, bird’s-eye view – blurring boundaries, diminishing faults, ‘barely-there’ contours…a heterogeneous union.

Just out of an official ‘dine n wine,’ I feel nudged back to my senses. It was this pool of people, some chattering (deliberate choice of word, that), all glee, fake attempts to bridge differences, swinging to the ubiquitous ‘dhinchak’ music in the background. Disgusting as it appears; I belong to this world and was very much a part of the gathering. Worth a mention is the one (a friend) who seemed to retain his sanity with utmost ease…in it and yet away. Though it caught him unaware awhile in the form of Preethi’s spoof. :-)

I often imagine a piece of me forcibly yanked out to fit into the cast of one among the teeming millions…of the fame of ‘civilized human being’. When I refuse to let go, the mind bleeds (the chink in my armor), not withstanding the shards of change and hence the misfired electrons, quirks, wild meanderings you see across this page.

My lust??...

i tried to kill the pain
but only brought more
(so much more)
i lay dying
and i'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
i'm dying praying bleeding and screaming
am i too lost to be saved
am i too lost?
